Sitting at the heart of Southeast Asia, Cambodia boasts of a pristine coastline that is still undiscovered by the tourism industry, but is surely gaining popularity amongst avid travellers. Known for being a budget destination, Cambodia offers elephant trodden trails, emerald jungles and of course beautiful beaches to experience.

But apart from the famous activities and temples that most itineraries nudge you to visit, there are a few beaches that you should definitely spend a day at!

Here are 11 beaches in Cambodia that usually dont make it to a travellers list:

Lazy Beach

If your idea of lazing around has always been lying under the shade of pine trees and enjoying the beach sand, this place is for you. The Lazy Beach is less than two hours away from the coast of Sihanoukville and is popular amongst those who enjoy watching the sunset. The pink skies are definitely worth an Instagram feature! If youre up for a little activity too, then you could indulge in snorkeling, diving or simply a little fishing here.

Long Set Beach

If youre putting up at the main part of the southeast Koh Rong, then the Long Set Beach should definitely be on your itinerary. Named after a farmer who lives there growing coconuts, mangoes and cashews, the beach is known for the quiet it has to offer. We recommend planning a trip at night to experience bioluminescent plankton here. Trust us, youll come away with a different beach love from here!

Southwestern Beach

Ever dreamt of an endless beach? Kilometers of pristine blue water and calming palm trees? Well, the Southwestern Beach at Koh Rong is just what dreams are made of. With about 43 kilometers of beach, the place can be easily deemed as the most gorgeous island of the Gulf of Thailand. One of the most sought after activities here include snorkelling. If youre an aqua enthusiasts, youll love watching the colourful rabbitfish, parrotfish and sergeant fish here as you make way through the clear waters.

Koh Thmei Beach

One of the most exquisite beaches of Cambodia, the Koh Thmei Beach is known for the mangrove forests it is surrounded by. But whats more is that while you enjoy the picturesque beach, you can also make a quick trip to the Ream National Park. The beach is totally our idea of being close to nature as it is mostly uninhabited.

Sokha Beach

Although the Sokha Beach is privately owned, a small section of it is open to the public. The beach is hawker free and is loved by those who enjoy a little time off from the usual hustle bustle of the commercialised areas. The white sands and placid waters here make for a perfect day swim, and are definitely a stress buster.

Saracen Bay

Just like the Long Set Beach, you get to experience white sand and crystal clear waters at the Saracen Bay. Situated on Koh Rong Samloem, another Cambodian island, this beach is fast gaining popularity amongst travellers. With eco-friendly luxury tents for accommodation, the beach is almost always void of crowds, letting you enjoy its beauty at your own pace.

Ochheuteal Beach

A three kilometre long beach, Ochheuteal beach is one of the most commercial beaches in Cambodia. The beach is actually more popular for the shacks, restaurants and bars it has to offer, more than the view. Since it runs a considerable distance, this beach is ideal for a long stroll. But we must forewarn you, choose a time that others are less likely to be there at because this beach is always way too crowded.

Serendipity Beach

Serendipity beach is the rocky outcrop that extends up to a few hundred kilometers just north of the Ochheuteal beach. Buried in between the trees of the low hills overlooking it, the beach has a cluster of wooden and bamboo bungalows up for rent that offer a beautiful view of the sea. The beach is a part of the marine conservation area, but has plenty of shacks and bars around it for dining.

Otres

Otres stretches all along the Cambodian coastline. Made up of two areas - Otres 1 and 2, you can enjoy the natural, undeveloped area between the two where the beach is practically empty. Just fifteen minutes down the road from Serendipity Beach, Otres is a lot quieter and laid back compared to its busy neighborhood. There are also a few guest houses here that you can stay at.

Koh Tonsay

Also known as the Main Beach, the soft sands here are surely to make you feel really close to the nature. Situated on the Rabbit Island, which is close to the mainland, youll feel like youre far away from all the hustle bustle of the city. Lined with gorgeous palm groves and thatched beach huts that serve the best of seafood, this place is perfect for the typical beach experience. Youre also sure to be greeted by families of scampering crabs here, so watch where youre going!

Koh Pos Beach

Popularly known for serving the best seafood in Sihanoukville, Koh Pos Beach is definitely a must visit from out list. The small, secluded and well shaded beach is the best for curling up with a book, under a tree, enjoying the sun and yummy food. But since the place is still unaltered by too much tourism, youll find a lot of monkeys in the area. So keep your stuff safe!

Most travelers visit Cambodia in the time from November to March. If you really want to enjoy the scenic beauty minus the crowds, we suggest you plan a trip somewhere between May to early October. Since Cambodia is warm all year round, you dont really need to worry about the weather!

Cuisine & Co- Why You Should Visit this Pune Restaurant!

Walking around the quaint lanes of Mayur Colony, Kothrud, we passed by the Solaris Gym and Club. Our hungry souls were pleasantly surprised to find a petite caf named Caf CoCo (Coffee and Conversations) playing nice music just at the entrance of the gym. Deciding to grab a bite, we walked in and were led to a beautifully done full-fledged restaurant on the right side. Called as Cuisine & Co, the restaurant was just what we needed on a sunny afternoon.

Mistaking it to be a place only for the members of the gym, we thought of coming back, but the warm hospitality of the place was very inviting. We discovered the place to be open to non-members as well and we got comfortable in the rustic wooden chairs painted in pale blue. The entire place was done with minimalism keeping intact the pastoral aura intact with Manglorean roofs yet a neatly done table setting.
To beat the heat, we started off with Mojitos. S and I were keen on having non-alcoholic drinks since it was a mid-week afternoon and thankfully, the place served variety of unusual mojitos like the watermelon and basil Mojito (Served with few chunks of watermelon) and Orange and Chilly Mojito (with a whole green chilly to kick things up). Not only did the glassful of Mojitos look fancy, they tasted really divine and opened up our taste palettes!

For starters, Swathi chose a Red Pepper Chicken that was served with glass noodles. The dish looked really unique with deep red chicken topped with clear white noodles. I chose the Veg Spring Roll Asian Style and I couldnt stop myself from having the whole dish. Blame my appetite; blame the goodness of the dish!

To customize the dishes as per our liking, there was a big platter full of sauces and condiments served on the side and the sweet chilli sauce was my pick!

After coming out of the oriental coma, we decided to order the main course. The owner personally recommended few dishes and we glad we picked them. Swathi ordered for the Nasi Goreng (An Indonesian speciality) with prawns. The rice loaded with fresh prawns was served with a fried egg sprinkled with seasoning. I was busy gobbling down the beautiful and rich Burmese Khowsuey. Being a coconut milk fan, I loved the delicate flavours that popped up from the dish and with every bite; I could relish the well-cooked veggies, the condiments (different ones this time) that came along.

And then entered the show stealer- The Kolkata Biryani that could transfer you straight to the streets of Kolkata! The long-grained rice with subtle aroma of spices, the chicken cooked to perfection and the aroma of Dum showed the effort that was put in the dish and we were transferred to a totally different world of foodgasm! The Raita that was served on the side was chilled and soothing, but honestly, the Biryani was a gem in itself! The biryani was cooked in a brass vessel which made it more authentic.

Let me be honest, the restaurant is perfect for a relaxing lunch and I would want to go for a romantic dinner. The poolside seating would especially be a special place to enjoy a nice fancy dinner and the entire place gives you the feeling of openness that is very rare in such a crowded area of Pune.

While most of visitors start dropping after 4, the place is great all-day round. The restaurant is great for lunch or dinner and the caf can quench your mid-day thirst with cold soups and great coffee. Healthy salads, sandwiches and Home-baked goodies like cakes, breads and cheesecakes are available at the cafe.

For deserts, we expected a notch better after the really good food. The red velvet cake, the New York baked cheesecake and the Tiramisu could have been better; may be it was just not their day!

Cuisine & Co  is an ideal place for a family dinner, elaborate Sunday brunch or a quick week-night meal! Offering outdoor catering that serve Lebanese, Japanese and Mexican food, Swathi has already decided that our next office party is going to be catered from here!

This place is definitely worth checking out if you are heading out to dinner in the coming months!

Europe - Air Travel Vs Train Travel - What is the Best Option?

$

So you are stuck while planning the itinerary for traveling within Europe and you are still weighing your options on the mode of transport that you are going to opt for traveling inside the continent on your long awaited journey. Given the close competition between the air and the rail transport within Europe over the years, arriving at a decision can really be a painful task. To give you a clear idea of both the options, we have taken some important parameters and analyzed how they change with respect to both of the transportation modes.

[ADD]
So here are some points that will solve your dilemma - Plane or Train to travel across Europe

Cost & Time

There is a general belief amongst people that traveling through train is always cheaper when compared to flying. But thanks to the budget air travel companies like EasyJet, Transavia, Vueling, and Ryanair, traveling through the plane is not as extravagant as you all think it is and to be honest they cost similar to what Eurostar costs and in some cases even cheaper! But remember the initial cost that you will be seeing while starting to book, changes as you proceed further through the portal.

Coming to the time taken, if you are traveling to cities that are closer to each other, traveling through train is always a better option but for cities that are separated long enough, flights come in handy. While the air time in the flights are very less compared to the trains you should also consider the time taken for checking in at the airport and all the other procedures that happen before boarding a flight.

Here is a scenario for you to see.

Paris - Amsterdam

Through Train: 3 hours 20 minutes. Cost: 108 Euros*.
Through Flight: 1 hour 30 minutes (nonstop). Cost: 31 Euros*.

Brussels - Amsterdam

Through Train: 2 hours. Cost: 53 Euros*.
Through Flight: 40 minutes (nonstop). Cost: 144 Euros*.

*All the costs mentioned above are subject to change.

Air travel vs Train travel across Europe

Boarding Experience

After the Brussels airport bombings in the March of 2016, security at almost all the airports in the world, especially in Europe has been tightened. With increased security, the time that takes in the airport is actually longer than usual. You have to check in at the airport at least 1-2 hours before your departure, undergo various security checkings that may include removing your shoes and placing your electronic gadgets in separate trays and endure a physical examination which for the most of the time can be a little embarrassing. But having said that more security actually means more safety, which is good.

The boarding experience in trains come with comparatively lesser hassles and fewer security checkings. You will only be asked to pass through a metal detector and your baggage will be screened using x-ray. And if you're traveling through a Standard class or a Standard premier class ticket on the train, you can check in 30 minutes prior and additionally if you have a Business premier ticket you just have to check in 10 mins before the actual boarding. So absolutely no waiting there!

For the baggage, each flight has its own restrictions and if you're traveling through a budget airline please go through the baggage info mentioned in the official website of the airline. Budget airlines usually have lesser options compared to the other airlines. Trains don't actually have any weight restrictions as such but if you are traveling through Eurostar you can carry a maximum of 2 pieces of luggage (not more than 85cms in dimension) and 1 hand luggage is allowed. Although, there are no weight restrictions, please keep in mind that you will have to carry the bags yourself.

Experience while Traveling

The main thing that most of us are concerned with while traveling is the sole experience that we get. So how does the experience vary while flying and taking a train? Only when you are traveling on a Business class or a First class ticket will you get a spacious seat with extra legroom in flights. Do not expect extra space in an economy seat, you don't have any. And as the budget airlines get filled faster, most of the time you'll be traveling fully packed. So no empty seats too!

Trains come with spacious seats and extra legroom all the time and the seats are also fully reclinable. This may be because of the fact trains are generally designed for long journeys while planes are perfected for short overhauls. And the passengers in the planes are encouraged to stay remained in their seats while in the air except while using the loo, whereas in the train you can walk around, stretch a little, and visit the observatory decks. Plus there is a restriction for using your electronic gadgets while flying which I think works best, giving you the time to be in the present.

[ADD]

For Food, you might actually strike a good deal while booking a flight online and end up having a free meal along with your ticket. But that is not the case in most of the flights. On general, flights have limited food options which are also on the pricey side. In the train, you have plenty of choices for food, including a buffet that comes along with the ticket and you also have bar buffet for snacks.

When it comes to offering views, both the transports fight it off neck-in-neck. From an airplane you get to see an aerial view of the entire place, a view that you have never seen before. And in the train, you can wake up to a gorgeous sunrise along the countryside and gaze at it through the window. Not to forget the fact that CO2 (Carbon dioxide) emissions are comparatively lower.

Other Factors to Consider

cheapest way to travel Europe

Apart from these important parameters, there are also plenty of other factors that come into play. For example, the distance and the time that is taken to reach an airport or a railway station. While most of the airports are located in the suburbs of the city, railway stations are located in the city centers and connect to the same. Plus flights follow a tight schedule, meaning - a delay in one of your flights will actually affect you boarding the linking flight, which in turn will spoil your whole plan. The same goes for the train, if you have to get down at a particular station and travel to another station to catch the other train, you will be in big stress.

As most of the budget airlines don't come with a travel agent, you are in a situation to book the tickets on your own and that too only through online. The problem in this is if anything goes wrong, it is very hard to contact the concerned person to resolve the issue.

And if you are interested in exploring plenty of cities within Europe, you could also get a Eurorail pass which again will reduce the amount you spend on travel and help you explore more for less.

Conclusion

If you are in a rush and running out of cash, traveling through plane might me the best option for you. On the flip side, if you have time and could afford a little extra, then train might be ideal for you. At the end of the day, based on the itinerary and your interest, you can choose either of the two options or you could also combine both of them to fit in your plan.

Whatever you do, just enjoy and make sure you pass on the interesting story.

These shores are filled with pebbles and rocks and therefore, do not support bike rides on them. So, park your bike or car at a distance and walk along them for an unforgettable experience.

Traveling through Kinnaur route, one cannot escape the beauty of the Nako village. With beautiful tall mountain surroundings, the village is closely situated to a minuscule yet lovely Nako Lake. The village is more like a maze with many lanes and by-lanes. An impressive view awaits you as you walk through the by-lanes of the village and witness the houses made of only stones and mud.

6. Relax at the caves of Tabo

Holiday and relaxation are interrelated. One of the serene and calm places of Spiti valley, Tabo is the most preferred spot for meditation by monks of the area. Dug into the hillside of the towering mountain near Tabo, the place has the oldesst monastery in India that was established in 996 AD. The caves have a hole in the middle that opens to the vastness of the sky and instills a sense of composure and happiness.

7. Losar mani stone carvings

Similar to the Paris lock bridge, there is a practice of carving Om Mani Padme Hum along the roadsides and rivers as an offering to the spirits. Popularly believed to bring good luck, the tradition has been influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism practitioners. To ensure the passing of this popular belief system, the people of Losar are now in the process of educating their younger generation to know the longstanding tradition of Mani stone carvings.

8. Pin Valley Buchen performance

Witness ritualist performance by Buchens who are specialist performers. They are also popularly referred to as travelling lama-actors. Residing in the Pin Valley of Spiti, they are called upon by local Buddhist families to chant religious scriptures. If you visit Spiti during the winter, this is a must-watch event.

While Spiti valley seems a small place in size, it is one of the serene locales of India that should be part of your travel bucket list. Incredibly Indian, these sites give a direct competition to the breath-taking views of Switzerland that we usually praise. Travel to the corners of India only to brush off those exotic beauty claims from your minds.

SantaCon San Francisco 2017

It is that time of the year again where you were lead to believe that an imaginary fat bearded guy visits you in a bright red costume to give you gifts. But what do you do when you grow up, do you just stop believe in Santa? Well if you are in San Francisco you dont need to! Not only you can dress up as Santa Clause you can also go pub-crawling with your friends and raise some money for charity on the way! Doesnt it sound like the perfect deal? For all those who are still scratching their head wondering what are we on about, we bring you SantaCon in San Francisco!
[ADD]

So what exactly is SantaCon?

To put it simply SantaCon is nothing but an annual mass gathering of people where they dress up as Santa Clause or any other Christmas character for an amazing parade which is followed by a pub crawl. It is also used as a medium to gather funds for various charitable organizations. The official SantaCon parade is free of cost to attend, but if youre looking forward to attend one of the after-parties you have to donate some amount of money.

Why do they do it?

Few of the privately organized SantaCons have a strict admission fee to attend which is then donated towards charity. Last year one organization alone made a donation of around $60,000. But, if you are a broke college student who lives on ramen noodles dont worry we havent forgotten about you! Most of the SantaCon events are free and everyone can participate regardless of their age. To put it in simple terms the basic concept of SantaCon is simply to have fun with your friends and bunch of other strangers dressed as Santa Clause before you go home and attend an awkward family dinner for Christmas.

What do I need to know if I want to participate?

The basic thing you need to remember before you participate is that you need to dress up in Santa outfit or any other Christmas character outfit. No a red hat with reindeers on it will not be enough. The other important thing you need to remember is that getting drunk in public is illegal and is not recommended. You dont want to dress up as Santa and start a brawl. Dont be that Santa. SantaCon usually happens right before Christmas it is recommended to wear multiple layer of clothing. Slutty Santa costumes are not recommended.

Where should I start?

This year (i.e 2016) the SantaCon parade is scheduled for December 10th. The location will be updated on their official Facebook page the night before it begins.

Can I bring my kid along?

Unless he/she is of legal drinking age it is not recommended.

[ADD]

Where should I start my pub-crawl?

Winter is also the time where bars and pubs start serving their signature winter cocktails. Isnt that the best way to celebrate SantaCon? If you do not want to follow the parade and want to plan your own pub-crawl, we got your back! Just stick to our cocktail recommendation for a perfect pub-crawl!

1. Arguellos National Frog

Your first drink should be perfect while you are on a pub-crawl, so how can a tequila infused cocktail go wrong? Located on 50 Moraga Avenue this bar has an outdoor patio, surrounded by high white walls, and a view of the Bay. The cocktail consists of hibiscus-infused Corralejo reposado tequila added with some some vibrant La Pinta pomegranate liqueur. The combination may sound bit weird, but hey you are the one who is getting drunk in an elf costume.

2. The Progress at The Concession

If you ever thought popcorns are only meant to be enjoyed with movies and TV shows, think again or dress up as Santas reindeer and do a pub-crawl. This rum based cocktail consists an unusual infusion with popcorn (no, we are not kidding) to give it a buttery taste, but the fun doesnt stop there it also consists of a cherry-cola syrup and dry vermouth.

3. Liquid Gold at STEMs

This bay area bar is famous for the spectacular view it offers from its patio and some strong and equally delicious cocktails, the Liquid Gold is undoubtedly being best of them. It consist of orange juice blended with a base of Diep 9 Young Genever from Belgium, with garden shrub and some cinnamon. Yes, it does sound more like a protein shake rather than a cocktail, but youre going to need every bit of protein this SantaCon in San Francisco.

4. Call A Treuse at Devils Acres

This next cocktail on our list has so many ingredients in it that it might just feature in the next season of Masterchef America. It consists of green and yellow Chartreuse, blend of dry vermouth, lemon, vanilla syrup and egg white. The complexity of the drink makes it stand out from its competition.

5. Ragnarok at Plajs

Ragnarok roughly translates to the end of days or to put it simply Dooms Day. If you are asking yourself how a drink named after apocalypse can be good for anyone, we ask you why wouldnt it be? This tequila-based cocktail consists of lime syrup, tarragon, raspberry and sweet onion (you heard that right). You can never go wrong with sweet onions.

6. Hilo Gimlet at Hapa Ramens

This cocktail infuses best of both American and Japanese culture with a combination of Hawaiian punch with Hi-chew (fruit-flavored based candy in Japan), you dont need to worry about it being too sweet as it also infuses tart with gin and lime to balance out all the flavors.

Get ready to enjoy the holiday season!!

Many people dream of sunny beaches and exotic destinations when the cold winter temperatures start knocking on their door. However, if you have a Viking soul in you, you're absolutely fascinated of how the Night's Watch lived, or simply adore snow and ice, you might have a very different idea about how you'd like to experience the winter holidays. Check out the coldest places on Earth you'll love to spend Christmas in!

[ADD]

Chamonix, France

While France is not exactly renowned for freezing temperatures, do keep in mind that it is home to Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps and the silent guardian of the Chamonix commune. If you're into winter sports, you'll have a blast in Chamonix! This picturesque high-mountain town hosted the first Winter Olympics all the way back in 1924 and is a huge attraction for skiing, snowboarding and ice climbing fans from all over the world.

Lapland, Finland

Source: travel-holidays

Lapland is the northernmost and largest region of Finland, and it has almost freezing temperatures all year round. Christmas, however, is the best time to visit this fairy-tale place. This is Santa's homeland after all, and the locals know how to make the most out of this festive period. Enjoy reindeer sleigh rides through the sleepy woods, hear amazing stories by the crackling fire, go skiing or snowmobiling, or just sit back and relax in a cosy cabin, enjoying the snowy countryside.

[ADD]

Oymyakon, Siberia

If cold, remote, and a bit creepy are your cup of tea, Oymyakon might be your ideal winter holiday destination. This little Siberian town is officially the coldest permanently inhabited site in the world, with temperatures dropping even below 70 degrees C (95 F). Explore the otherworldly landscapes of Siberia, have a go at reindeer sledding, try authentic nomadic food and get to see Yakutian cows and horses - unique Siberian breeds adapted to the harsh conditions of the region.

While here, don't forget to check out the Road of Bones, the only connection of the town with the outside world. In case you're wondering, yes, the nickname of the highway has quite a spine-chilling story behind it the road was built by prisoners, many of whom died during its construction due to exhaustion, malnutrition, exposure to the freezing temperature, or were simply executed for not working hard enough. Their bodies were left buried within the foundations or purposefully incorporated into the road to serve as a buffer against the permafrost.

Barrow, Alaska

The northernmost settlement in the US, located 514 km (320 miles) north of the Arctic Circle, Barrow enjoys a polar climate, with temperatures above 0 degrees C (32 F) for only 160 days per year. While here, you will learn about the history and traditions of the Inupiat people, try local dishes, get the chance to spot polar bears, go bird-watching, visit the whaling station and Birnirk archaeological site nearby, or embark on an exciting tundra adventure. Are you ready to embrace the cold this winter and enjoy an out-of-the-ordinary Christmas? Time is running fast, so start planning your trip, buy plenty of warm clothes, and look for a good holiday insurance policy ASAP!

Crucial Points of Every Destination Wedding Checklist for Guests

Heading for a destination wedding? You are signing up for one of the most fun experiences of your lives here! Apart from the wedding hysteria, what comes along is the experience of enjoying this extravaganza outside your city. New locales, new food, new climates and all things novel plus the fun of a wedding. But since this is not your regular vacation, you must have a destination wedding checklist as a guest. While your primary reason is attending the wedding, dont forget that you are going to be at a new place, which requires you to pack more or less than your regular vacation, if not differently. So, to make it easier for your next destination wedding, here's a checklist, you may thank us later!

Planning travel around destination

Top attractions

You might be short of time, but this is one golden opportunity you have, to explore a new destination. Make sure you include at least the top 5 attractions in your travel plans. Scoping out close by countries and destinations too is a good idea (especially if the destination is Europe).

Skip the not-so-important functions

You sure are present for the wedding, but you don't have to feel guilty to skip a few small ceremonies. Especially, when it comes to the seamless rituals and functions of an Indian wedding, its a great idea to head out. As most of these functions are also more relevant to the immediate family.

Local transport

Local transport can be fun, with respect to the destination. For example, old-charm tram, a tuk-tuk or even a green-coloured autorickshaw might suddenly find a place of admiration in your heart! Plus, this is the easiest way to get around. Ask locals about the best option!

Food affair

You cannot possibly be at a novel destination and not get a taste of its vivers! An indulgence in local fare is a must and we can't stress enough on this. Galouti kebabs, laal maas, tom kha kai, bricelets de benichon waffles, poi; we can go on!

Retail therapy

Authentic local handllom, vivid textile, embroideries, fabrics, local art and handicrafts make as great souvenirs of the destination and will also double up as a memory from the wedding! So get your hands on some.

Packing checklist for a destination wedding

Clothes for the occasion; lets not forget the purpose

In all the excitement of going to a destination, do not forget you are going there with the primary motive of attending a wedding! Sincerely, this is an absolute possibility. So dont forget to pack your outfits for the wedding.

A portable safe for all the valuables

Whether or not you are staying at a 5-start property, its always a good idea to carry your own portable safe, in case you plan on wearing expensive jewelry. Also, it's a good idea to keep your passport and vital documents here along with cash. A beautiful colonial property or the brides grandmothers country house may probably not have this amenity. So, carry your own.

Appropriate clothing to explore locales

Considering factors like weather, customs, and traditions of a destination, carrying appropriate clothes is essential. Doing a little research about the same could give you a brief idea. Remember, comfort is the key!

Hair and makeup to look gorgeous

Done with the attires, dont forget to pack in the makeup and hair kit. It is easy to forget this one because exploring new places sans makeup is the best thing ever. But a wedding does require you to look your best, so throw in all the glitz and glam equipment!

A good camera to capture the beautiful memories and more

Whether this is your childhood friend or your boss daughter, you are indeed creating fond memories being a part of such a noble celebration. Capturing these on a good camera is a must. The beautiful location, cheery people, delicious food, lovely dcor, the happy couple and your stunning outfit; all must be captured! For someone like me who loves clicking pictures, a good camera is an absolute must on a destination wedding checklist for guests.

Pairs of shoes for activities and adventures

Personally, I always tend to forget to pack an extra pair only to regret later! To avoid this, make sure youve got all the required footwear. One obviously for the wedding events and the other to explore the area. You might walk a lot perhaps, or it may be cold, or really sandy, or you chose to take up some adventure activity, so pack accordingly.

Medications that you are on/ may need

Apart from all your daily medications that you may be taking, carrying a first-aid kit is also advisable. Also, it's a good idea to carry other medication that you might require for say motion sickness, vertigo, sleep, or altitude sickness.

Document checklist for a destination wedding

Most essentially - passport

While you obviously need a passport for an international destination wedding, carrying it to a domestic destination too can be a good idea. After all, it is the ultimate ID proof, outside or within the country!

Visa, on requirement

Followed by a passport, the second crucial thing on your checklist is the Visa. Unless, you are traveling to a destination that requires no Visa or one that you can attain on arrival.

ID proofs to say hello

You may be required to show your identity proofs at certain places. Carrying some form of it is always a savior. While a passport is an obvious choice for an international destination, something else would work just fine nationally. Driving license, election card, and the likes. Say hello with these too, whoever asks. Certainly, a must have on a destination wedding checklist for guests.

Details for national embassies

If you are traveling internationally, carry all the details of your national embassy there. Contact number, authorities, address among others. A good idea is to share these details with someone who is home/ not traveling to the wedding.

Currency, for all given reasons

Dont forget to get your currency exchanged if you are traveling abroad. This is very likely to happen, in all the excitement. So, make sure you have the valid currency of your destination. Debit/ credit cards may not be the best idea, in some places.

Miscellaneous

Extra days, is a good idea

Since you have gone at the length of booking your travel tickets, taking leave from work, and traveling to a destination, dont be guilty to go a few days before the wedding, or even after. Of course, the wedding is the first thing on your mind, but after all the investment, exploring around wouldnt hurt anyone.

Making the most of the amenities

This means trying out that signature spa treatment, strolling out to the private beach for that particular sunset or moon party, venturing the indigenous farmers market, indulging in local food; in short anything and everything that will relax you. Because what is a vacation without some relaxation?!

Tick these off your checklist for that much-needed vacation, and the beautiful memories of the wedding.

PS: you could leave your kids behind too!
